You did it! Democrats won in Upper Gwynedd and North Penn, and won big!!
I am thrilled to see the election results from Tuesday’s election. I’m sure you are too! It was a resounding repudiation of MAGA, Moms for Liberty and all they stand for. And you did this, by paying attention and getting out to vote in an off-year election!
Thank you!!!
If you’d like in-depth analysis of Montgomery County’s results by township and overall, visit this excellent dashboard from Montgomery County Voter Services. On the left, the results from Abington School Board will appear by default, but you can change the input to a particular race, or to just to Upper Gwynedd township, to see the results.
Here are some highlights
The overall results from 95% of the votes cast in Montgomery County for Montgomery County Commissioners:
The vote totals from just Upper Gwynedd Township for Montgomery County Commissioner:
There’s a popular idea that Upper Gwynedd leans more Republican than Montgomery County as a whole, but these results don’t bear that out. Upper Gwynedd’s percentage of the vote total for Republican County Commissioners was only slightly higher than Montgomery County’s vote total as a whole.
Here are the local races for School Board and Commissioner, which, I’m happy to say, Democrats swept the races.
Here are the Upper Gwynedd results for the important PA State Supreme Court seat:
And here are the state-wide results from Philadelphia Inquirer:
Finally, here’s a blog post from another Substack newsletter I follow, Popular Information. The writer focused on how Pennridge and Central Bucks School Districts (both of whom also had Democrats sweep their elections,) are a bellwether for the future of the Moms for Liberty movement. The same could be said for North Penn School District results. Pennridge was just unfortunate enough to have Republicans on the Board hire a “consultant” to recommend faith-based methods for teaching social studies. That’s why Pennridge School Board’s flip to all Democrats, given the political makeup of its population, is even more dramatic than North Penn, and notable enough for this Substack.
